Good Sunday evening, Cougar Families! Here are a few things to note as we start another great week at CCS.
1. Tomorrow and Tuesday at their cafeteria time, Grade 3 – 8 students may buy Candygram lollipops that will be delivered to Grade 3 – 8 Cougars of their choice on Valentine’s Day. Students are asked to only bring change and no paper bills. Candygrams are 50 cents each, and students may purchase up to a max of 4, so please send no more than a twoonie with them for their purchase. Parents may also note that we have a parent accepting e-money transfers in support of this Grade 8 fundraiser so that a Candygram will arrive to a child from someone from home. 2. Free lunch will be served both Tuesday and Wednesday this week! Many thanks to volunteers lead by Women’s Institute members who are preparing and serving a spaghetti lunch on Tuesday. Our amazing Wednesday volunteer crew will be in on Wednesday as well to serve lunch. Students who do not wish to eat what is offered should bring their bucket as usual.
3. Best wishes to the Boys’ and Girls’ Middle School Basketball Teams this week as they are bringing the season to a close with several away games. I’ll update later this week if I have accidentally missed a home game in my calendar.
4. Best wishes to our students who are hosting and participating in the District Chess Tournament this Thursday at CCS.
5. It is Staff Appreciation Week across the province and we are so grateful for all those who have had a hand in coordinating special thanks and treats this week. We appreciate the spoiling! It is timely in that Saturday of this week will also be Random Acts of Kindness Day, so students and families may also choose to make a plan for sharing their heart to a community or family member on that day.
