As you know, our school has been a prototype site for the provincial lunch program. During this initial phase, families have been using SchoolCash Online and communicating with the office regarding orders, cancellations, and questions. This was always intended as a temporary process.
The next phase of the program is designed so that all communication—ordering, payment, cancellations, and meal details—will be handled directly between families and the lunch provider.
We are excited to be one step closer to this transition. This week, we will begin field testing the provider’s online ordering system. This is a web-based platform where families will register an account. (We expect the app for both Android and IOS to be ready for release next week!)
Important details for this week’s test:
- You will pre-order lunch for Monday and/or Tuesday today (or by Monday at 7:00 a.m.) using SchoolCash Online, (same as the last two weeks)
- You will pre-order lunch for Thursday by Wednesday at 8:00 am using the website https://www.weareontheway.ca/
- (Wednesday remains a free lunch day for all students and is no school for students on Friday)
This test period will allow the provider to ensure the system runs smoothly and to make any necessary adjustments before full implementation of online ordering in June.

We encourage you to register your account online at your convenience rather than waiting until Tuesday to place your order for Thursday’s lunch (deadline: Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.).
Re cancellation/refunds: For this week, if your child is absent a day for which lunch was pre-ordered for Monday or Tuesday, please continue to notify Ms. Kinney in the office. Starting Thursday, your cancellation/refund will be directly with the provider through the online messaging system in your account. Details are included in the guide above.
