Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at CCS!

We are excited to see everyone back at school this week. Most students will begin the school year on Tuesday. Kindergarten students have a staggered entry. If you have a kindergarten student, please refer to the letter that was sent to them from their teacher. The doors are open for students and buses unload at 7:50 and student learning begins at 8:05 immediately following morning announcements. Please ensure that your child arrives at school prior to 8:05 every day.

All K-8 students end their instructional day at 2:25. Grades K-2 students will be brought to the front lobby at 2:25, at which time they can be picked up. Buses will leave CCS at 2:35. After the buses leave, Grades 3-8 students who are being picked up or walking, will be dismissed. We asked that you stick to end of the day pick up times, unless your child has an appointment or something urgent comes up. Please notify your child’s teacher (with a written note) or contact the office (506-276-4000) if they are being picked up and this is not their usual routine. If we do not have word from you, the parent/guardian, your child will go on their usual after school bus.

All students are expected to bring a lunch to school every day. We will let you know when special lunches begin. Lunch time is a very busy time, especially for the younger students. Please ensure that your child has items that they can open and eat independently. Our cafeteria does have a limited number of microwaves to warm up items. These are for reheating only; please do not send items that need to be cooked (e.g. KD cups, dry noodles, etc.), only items that take 30 seconds to reheat. Also, please ensure that you pack cutlery for your child to use.  CCS does provide a daily breakfast option to all students through our breakfast bin delivery to each homeroom.

It is very important for students to bring a water bottle to school daily in order to stay hydrated. Our school can get quite warm throughout the day. We have several water bottle filling stations throughout the school. They should also be reminded to take their water with them to the cafeteria to have something to drink with their lunch.

Please watch for several coloured forms coming home this week for you to fill out. We ask that you return them to school promptly, as this will ensure that we have all the up-to-date information that we need at school.

Please also note the School Calendar 2025-2026 (all District of CN Schools) – Centreville Community School for this school year. All schools within the District of Carleton North will be participating in the provincial the School Calendar Pilot which adds up to 10 dedicated Professional Learning (PL) days for teachers and school staff, providing valuable opportunities for staff learning and collaboration in the service of improved student learning and achievement.  There was one date (May 11) missing from the version of the calendar shared in June, and we are therefore including herein the updated version.

Student fees this year are $25 for all students in K-5 and $40 for Middle School students (which includes a 15$ technology fee). School fees can be paid through SchoolCashOnline.com: Welcome Thank you for paying those at your earliest convenience.

If ever you have any questions or concerns, please call the school (506-276-4000) or reach out by email. We are all looking forward to a great year together!

Warm regards,

CCS Administration
