Good Sunday evening, Cougar Families! Here are some things to note about this upcoming week at CCS:
1. Our current plan is for report cards to go home Tuesday (as long as the printers all work with us on Monday!). Teachers have or will be informing you of how to best arrange a time to meet with them Thursday afterschool/evening or Friday morning for a parent-teacher interview. There is no school for students on Friday, December 8th for this reason.
2. We continue to offer free hot lunch on Wednesdays. We are very grateful for the volunteers who make this possible!! When their own work schedules impact their availability, they sometimes notify us of a change in menu, like last week, when they offered pizza, which is easier to prepare and serve with fewer volunteers. Typically, Wednesdays will be grilled cheese and veggies or fruit pieces. When we are made aware of the changes, we will do our best to communicate that out to you, but it sometimes may be a Tuesday announcement. You can watch your email and the Facebook Home and School page for menu changes.
3. We are so very grateful for your support of our Poinsettia fundraiser and we are especially appreciative of your all working with us to arrange pick-up of every plant last week!! Thank you so much!! We have already penciled in that we will do this same fundraiser next year. If you have feedback to share about this fundraiser including the number of available plants for next year, please reach out to Mrs. K. She signs the contract with Jolly Farmer the first week of September and will likely order the same number of plants we sold this year for next year. The funds collected from these sales have been shared among the three teams’ accounts to off-set costs associated with year-end activities.
4. Thank you for your generous support of the Pajama Drive in memory of Emma P. Her parents joined us for a visit during the PJs and buddy reading time in the gym on Friday and were very appreciative. 56 pairs of jammies from CCS will be a part of the generous contribution they will make to children and women needing comfort.
5. Middle School Athletics: Please note the change! Middle School Boys’ Basketball Team Tryouts will be Tuesday, December 5th from 5:30 – 7:00. There will be the one tryout time. Please attend. Middle School Girls’ Basketball Team Tryouts will be Monday, December 4th from 7:00 – 8:30 as planned. There will be the one tryout time.
