Happy Wednesday, Cougar Families!  I need to add and few items to ‘this week at CCS’.

1. There is also a Middle School Girls’ Home Basketball Game tonight, at 7:15 when they will host Hartland.  Good luck, players!

2. Please look in bookbags today.  We received a generous donation of boxes of Kraft Pizza Kits for each student and homeroom teachers are distributing those today.

3. The District of Carleton North has asked us to share that the Cardboard Classic will be on February 19 at 10 AM during the Florenceville-Bristol day at the Northern Carleton Civic Centre. Pre-Registration is required for this event, forms can be scanned and sent back to Kimberly.brown@carletonnorth.com or over the phone  at 506-392-6763 Ext. 207.  Cardboard Classic.png  Cardboard Classic Registration Form.pdf

4.  Please ensure you review the dance expectations in preparation for tomorrow evening’s event. Chips and water will be provided as part of their entry fee, if they so wish. There is no bake sale this dance, so no pocket money is needed beyond the $5 to enter.  Thank you!

CCS Dance Expectations

a. Students who are absent from school may not attend any after-school activity that day; therefore students who are absent the day of the dance may not attend the dance.

b. The K-2 dance is from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. Please drop them off at 5:00 and arrive for pick-up at 6:00.

c. The Grades 3-5 dance is from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Please drop them off at 6:00 and arrive for pick-up at 7:00.

d. The Grades 6-8 dance is from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Please drop them off at 7:00 and arrive for pick-up promptly at 9:00.

e. No cars are to enter the driveway across from the church. Please enter only across from the Gregg Settlement Road and/or the pool side entrance and exit across from the Church.

f. The students must remain in the designated areas for the entire dance. They may not leave early unless we have called you for early pick-up for an emergency or disciplinary issue. We will open the doors for them to leave and meet you at your vehicle at the designated pickup time.

g. Students must all go home with their adult or the adult that their parent/guardian has arranged to pick them up. No students may walk home.

f. Admission to the dance is $5. The money collected is used to defray the cost of hosting the dance; any surplus funds will be deposited in the fundraising-general account to be used for student activities at CCS and other educational purposes.

g. The dance takes place in the gym. All students remove outdoor shoes and leave them in the cloak area so it is really a sock hop. Please wear socks!

h. Grade K-5 students are to leave devices and toys at home.

i. Middle school students are invited to bring their devices. As per school policy and newly update provincial policy, they are not permitted to take photos and videos of students at school; this includes during dances. We ask your support in reinforcing with your child that although they may not like or agree with this rule, it is a policy related to safety. The intent is for them to use the device to communicate with parents and other than that, dance and enjoy time with friends!

Thank you!
